Hi Friends,

Does anyone has idea , if I get 1 year work permit for canada from my current organisation, can I apply for PR.

Thanks !

If you want to apply through the Federal Skilled Worker program, the job offer has to be full time and permanent. More information here:

Hi Ricky,

I am presently working as Senior Programmer in a MNC, I work as .net developer.Total work ex. of 4 years.

I was getting an opportunity to work in Canada for long term like a year.
But now they are saying it might also be a short term visit like 3 months.

If I negotiate I can get 1 year opportunity will it be possible to apply for PR on one year work ex. in Canada.

Thanks !

Its okie if you extended your visit to one year. But problem is r u getting paid by an canadian company or Indian company(I guess you r from india)? And you should have proper work permit to work in Canada. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp Check this you should get paid by an canadian company.

And you should have job duties which should fall under NOC list.

The role needs to be permanent for you to apply for FSW. Not just 1 year.

If all you can get is one year in Canada, then once you complete one full year of full time work, you will qualify to apply for PR through the CEC program.
