Hi,
So I've been in Canada over 3 years now as a temporary resident. I'm still waiting on my PR coming through, did medicals back in May. It took Quebec 18 months to accept me, and it looks like another 15 months for the federal part of the application. I never realised the process would take so long. Assuming I get my PR next summer I'd have to stay 2 more years after getting it to qualify for Citizenship.
I have some reasons that I'd like to return to my home country for a few years asap (family getting old etc) and if I leave next year and go back for 3 years then when I come back to Canada my PR will no longer be valid because of the time I'll have left for. So what I'm thinking is maybe go back for 1 year, then submit a new application for PR (which will take 2-3 years to complete) so when I want to return I have my new PR. But will there be an issue applying for PR while I already have it?
Thanks
