Can I apply for immigration if I have already applied for Student Visa?

Hello All,

I am from Pakistan and recently (on fourth of May) the applications for immigration have opened up. I have applied for admission in University of Ottawa and am still waiting for an admission letter from them, after that I will apply for a student visa (I have NOT received the admission letter yet). Now my question is that can I also apply for an immigration ? Will it create any problems, if I apply for immigration now and later receive my admission letter and then apply for student visa?

Please help as the immigration wont be open for long.

still, you can.... its allowable...

but, the problem is .... your student visa most likely to be rejected... can be accepted also.. there is NO problem for applying both ... anytime...
