My application is complete for AINP's family streams. I will put my application in for AINP's family streams in a few days. Can i apply for both FSW=federal skilled worker and AINP's family streams at the same time. In case one gets rejected then i will be able to carry on with the second application.

I did the same... can anyone with this knowledge respond if it is possible. If AINP nomination is received and FSW application moves forward. Would one cancels the other or we have to inform AINP or Visa office.
For example, I want to abandon AINP and choose FSW. Is that possible?
I really want my FSW to be approved. AINP is only backup

If you have a running FSW application when you apply for your PNP nomination, the PNP might ask CIC to treat your FSW as a PNP once they have nominated you. If you don't want that to happen, you can ask them not to and make another application under PNP and of course you would have to pay the fees again for the second application.

Why do you care if the FSW or AINP is the one approved? They will both get you PR.

Leon, thanks for your prompt response.
Can you clarify: If you don't want that to happen, you can ask them not to and make another application under PNP and of course you would have to pay the fees again for the second application.
>Do you mean I need to ask AINP (Alberta)? How do I do this?
>My story is:
-AINP application was received by Alberta Office in Edmonton, on Dec 10
-FSW application was received by Sydney, NS on Dec 23
I am qualified for both. I apply Alberta just for a fallback if my FSW for some reason is not accepted.
My concern is since they both were applied almost at the same time. I may get answers from AINP and Sydney, NS at the same time too - say 2 weeks apart. If I get both, what do I need to do so AINP does not ask CIC to treat my FSW as PNP. FSW is my first priority - it will give me option to settle at other provinces.
Pls kindly advise
thanks again in advance

You should talk to AINP and tell them that you have an FSW going and ask them how that affects your PNP. If they tell you that once you are nominated, they will tell CIC to treat your FSW as a PNP, you can ask them not to.

There was a member on that forum in this exact same situation and that's what he did.

Thanks again Leon. I just did search in other forum in this website and you are right, I can choose one or the other also I can actually have both in process concurrently - say if I get nominated by PNP and Sydney issues AOR for me. But of course, I have to pay both Fee 2 X $490 = $980.
Is that right?

Yes, you can have two applications running at the same time. There is nothing preventing you from doing that.
