Can I apply for closed work permit when I already have open permit?

I have a open work permit for 1 year however now I my employer wants to apply for a two year closed work permit. Is it possible?

But you would need LMIA for a closed work permit. If your employer is willing to pay the fees and apply for LMIA - do it! I would stick to the open work permit unless you have serious doubts about your PR application going through.

Mine is LMO Exempt though
