Hello,

First off, thanks to everyone who will reply to this thread. I appreciate you taking time out to help me!

I'm looking for a way to get a work permit in Canada until my PR gets confirmed (looks like at least 4 months away but I would like to start working in Canada in another 2 months). I have applied via express entry and it looks like the approval will take until September this year (Received ITA, submitted all docs in March).

So my question is:
What visa can I apply to so I can move to Canada in another 1-2 months (or whatever is earliest possible) and start working? Would this in any way affect my ongoing PR application?

I'm going to research temp work permit options now but if anyone has already faced this, please share thoughts.

The only one might be a Bridging OWP.

You need a job offer in Canada and the employer has to get an approved LMIA so that you can apply for a closed work permit. LMIA process typically takes 4 - 6 months to complete. BOWP is not an option since you must already be holding a valid work permit to apply.

Hey,
just wanted to let yo know you might be eligible for International Experience Canada program (Working Holiday, Young Professional, Co-op).
I've applied for Working Holiday program while my PR application was being processed (I'm a dependent on the PR app which is still in progress - lol/grrr), and I'll let you know how this turned out, hopefully, in less then 8 weeks.

Good luck.

Hey, @SamuraiJack and all the folks who might find this info useful!
Just got a decision on the IEC Working Holiday I applied for in mid March - it's approved! Huraay!
No decision on my partner's and mine PR decision though.

Well, now you know, this might be a good option for you.
Best of luck to all.
