My spouse applied for and received Permanent Residency (PR) in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category. Both my daughter and I were included as dependents in the application.

My daughter, who is autistic, has been facing challenges, and I have been her primary caregiver. Recently, my spouse has decided not to continue supporting her, citing no improvement in her condition. In light of these developments, we are considering separation. Despite my commitment to take on the role of a solo parent and the availability of better facilities in Canada, my spouse is not interested in providing support for travel or obtaining the PR cards.

Given this situation, my question is:

As a dependent included in the application, do I have any rights to obtain a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) or a PR card without the support of the primary applicant, especially now that my spouse is unwilling to provide support for these purposes? The Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) was received in Jan 2024. I have the document details.

If you have COPR for both you and your child, then when are you landing? You can land and get PR. If spouse informs IRCC and cancels your PR, then you don’t have any rights.

What facilities are you referring to in Canada? What services are you expecting? You will be paying out of pocket for most if not all services. Waiting listings for programs can be years.
