Hello all,
I am working in Canada from last 2 years on WP. I recently got married and my husband works in India.

I am planning to apply for my PR and my husband's dependent PR.

My question is Can I apply for my PR and my husband's dependent PR from Canada, while my husband is still in India? Does he needs to be in Canada for filing his dependent PR? (Note my husband does not have a visitor's record yet so he cannot land into Canada until he gets one).

Appreciate your response. Please help!

Thanks

Hi,

I think his signature and date will required on the application form. If meanwhile I go to India, and get his signature and date on the form and then apply the PR from Canada say after 15-20 days, then will the date difference would be an issue? As the date I will be entering would be obviously recent and ahead of what my husband has already entered?

Any thoughts?? Does anybody heard that its allowed to apply for dependent PR for spouse, when the spouse is not in Canada and does not have any status in Canada.

Signature and date will not be issue

Which visa office u will be selecting, bcoz u will be requiring to deposit passport at that visa office

The CIC website suggests that form should be submitted at the following office:
Citizenship & Immigration Canada
Canadian Experience Class
Centralized Intake Office
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, NS
B1P 5Z2
Canada

But, while applying for PR we need to submit only copies of the passports, not the originals. When do we need to submit the passports in original?

The intial application is fine which needs to be submitted at below address
In application form, there is field of "Visa office" which needs to be filled such as london office, new delhi office, etc

After medical, u need to submit passport for visa stamping at visa office u selected
