Can dependants get citizenship being in Canada while Applicant is away??

Hi all,

Can you pl throw your comments on a situation where applicant lands in Canada with his family on Permanent Resident Visa but leaves Canada for extended time. If family stays in Canada for three years or more and comply with all immigration requirements, can the family get its citizenship even though main applicant did not comply as he was away. Please help. Thanks

Yes. The family members can apply for citizenship on their own, without the principal PR applicant.
