Hi everyone,

This question is about how best to satisfy the low income cut-off (LICO) requirement when writing the invitation letter:

My brother and I are Canadian citizens and would like to sponsor our 4 family members to Canada for a month long family reunion and vacation.

The home country is Vietnam and the family members include: my sister, my brother, my brother and his wife, all of whom are in their 50's and 60's.

Since I (and my wife) do not have sufficient income to sponsor all 4 relatives, I am asking my Canadian brother for help.

1) Can my Canadian brother and I co-sign an invitation letter?

2) If we need 2 separate letters, should we only list the names of relatives that we're able to sponsor individually, or should we list all 4 Vietnamese relative's names in each letter?

* To satisfy the low income cut-off requirement for all 4 relatives, I would need to pool my income, my wife's income, and my Canadian brother's income.

Ideally, we'd like to submit applications for all 4 relatives together and at the same time.

Thank you

I believe there is no LICO requirement in applying for regular visitor visa.

steaky is right, no requirements. However, you or they need to show sufficient funds to cover their expenses throughout their stay.

Thank you very much steaky and CanV for your replies.

I wasn't sure whether the LICO was applicable to regular visitor visas, but it seems that it only applies to the new Parent and Grandparent Super Visa.

Cheers!

I don't think it even applies to that either.
