Hi, if I am in Canada on an OWP (let's say it's valid for 3 years), can I just not work, not look for a job and also not collect any government welfare, instead living on my own savings (and contributing to the Canadian economy with my spendings)? Will I be allowed to stay in Canada for the full 3 years in this fashion without being kicked out? In other words, can I just treat the OWP as a means for me to take a 3-year break in Canada? Thanks a lot!

What kind of OWP and on what grounds were you awarded an OWP?

Sure, you can do that. OWPs normally aren't valid for 3 years however you can certainly do as you have planned for the duration of the OWP.
