Hello,

My Pr is expiring in Sep-2021. I have only spent 2 weeks in Canada (Please dont judge me on this as I was the sole care taker of my mother.)
Can I apply for PNP ontario , while maintaining my PR ?

Once I have the PNP then i will renounce the PR. Is this a workable plan ?

You need to renounce PR to apply again. You have a year left so come to Canada within the year and then fulfill your PR obligations.

No - not workable at all.

As said above, you must renounce PR first before you can reapply for PNP (or any other immigration program).

That is a decision you will have to make. You will be allowed in the country. Your PR hasn’t expired so you will not be reported. Once in Canada, you can’t leave until you have met your PR which is two years. Then you can sponsor your spouse and any children. This will take a minimum of one year.

In that case is sounds like your choice is simple.

Start by officially renouncing your PR status.

Then reapply for PR from scratch.
