I am currently a full-time post-secondary student. I have worked part-time throughout most of my post-secondary career (I'm in the last semester of my bachelor's right now) but have not worked in the past 6 months due to having to complete a practicum for my degree.

I am sponsoring my husband from Mauritania. I have clearly written out why I am not working, how I support myself as well as collected proof of my enrolment in my program. We are applying from Alberta. Does anyone know if this will cause a problem?

We had a lawyer tell us that if I'm a full-time student I don't have to meet an income requirement; however, we have since left that lawyer and are completing the application solo. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

There is no minimum income requirements to sponsor a spouse if that's what you are asking. If you are PR or citizen and eligible to sponsor otherwise, lack of employment should not prevent you from sponsoring your husband
