Hello Guys,

My wife got a call from 888-576-8502 claiming they are calling from Service Canada. They said my wife's SIN Number got some issues and asking her SIN Number. She said she can't give SIN to a stranger and hang up the phone.

She did the right thing. But when I checked in Google this number is from Client Support Centre Services - IRCC did these guys masked their number and Is this a Scam call?

Thanks in Advance.

Phone numbers can be spoofed, so never trust a number. What you can do is ask for their extension and call back the official phone number on the Service Canada Website (not clicking on the call log of the incoming call) and dialing the extension. If it's a legit call, they would give you their extension. If not, they will make up some excuse. Also what issues can a SIN number have, sounds 99% like a scam.
