@ Barbara, ours is also 5 months, at 2pm on the 19th, if yours is then also we should coordinate something and discuss our experience afterwards, i wish you all the best.
@ shamsuannahr, alf alf alf mabrouk, im very happy for you, i wish your situation is the same for all of us. how long was the interview? It sounds like it was only a few minutes, its funny how they can judge a relationship to be true or not based on some minutes, even when the couple has been together for much more than that. It sounds as if the more detail you explain of your relationship the better. Im wondering what the red flag is in my documents, and how i can answer him for that. Maybe since we met online and got married after a year of online. Alhamdullah I will have an interview as well and I think it was a great idea for your husband to bring in those photos really.
SO this interviewer is racist towards egyptians? Since Im a muslim and he will see that when im wearing a scarf and abaya, will he be more racist towards me? My husband and I are very religious, so should we pretend to not be? I will try to be as friendly and open to him as I can...would be amazing to meet anyone else with an interview that day!

Hi, our appointment is scheduled for 1 pm and we will be there in the waiting room by 12 noon. If you would like to get in contact with us we certainly can give you our phone number or our email address. My husbands name is Muhammad.

Hi, we are coming from sharm el sheikh and will be there probably around 12pm too, i will probably be wearing a scarf depending on what everyones opinion is if its a good idea because of the views of the interviewer, sure that would be great then at least we can tell each other about what happened

In your case, I think you should definitely show that you are a proud Muslim woman, and wear your scarf & abaya! The interviewer didn't like the fact that my husband is Muslim, and I'm not - he thinks that only Muslim-Muslim relationships are genuine. So if he sees that you are Muslim like your husband, he'll think your marriage makes a lot more sense than mine. The interviewer thinks the religions should match, that's all.

shamsuannahr, thank you very very much that helps a lot!

Hey everyone,

I want to ask a big favor. For those of us who have been unfortunate enough to have met with the racist old VO in the Embassy, Im asking that you send emails of complaint against him, and your experience. Even if you did not meet with him but are upset with the way they have been "managing" our files... or not. I have sent some emails to whomever I think may help. This whole ugly process should not have to be as horrible for all as it was for me.
Anyway, I have sent emails to the following Minister@cic.gc.ca (Jason Kennedy), cairo.visa@international.gc.ca;
cairo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca
They say you can find strength in numbers, so let us see what we can do.
Thank you

Does anyone think that the officers read these posts?:P

Hi guys, our E-CAS changed today to "In process," and looks like this now:

"We received your application for permanent residence on March 6, 2012.

We started processing your application on May 12, 2013.

Interview scheduled for May 12, 2013."

But my husband has not received an email requesting his passport yet. Also, we weren't asked to redo our medical.

I hope and pray the immigration officers don't read this message board, they'll change our file to "rejected" for sure! :-\

hi guys , suddenly the online checking of the application statue isn't working
is there anyone having the same problem ?
