ok so here is another update...., they extended the medical of my wife till feb 14 th 2014.. and we should be waiting for some news next week concerning the visa

Hello i am about to apply to sponspr my wife from Cairo , they asked for National Identity Card and kashf alaela , do i have to translate them as well ?
if i translated them here in Toronto iwould not need an Affidavit would i ?
do u know any Good Arabic to English translation offices in Toronto (near North York perhaps ) ?

Before getting the papers from egypt they need to be authenticated at the ministry of foriegn affairs. Browse through the begining post in this thread for all the steps required.

You will use a certified translator, which will give you an affidavit. I'm not in the Toronto area so I cannot offer the name of mine. I found her in the yellow pages.

People are pretty helpful here if you need anything else just ask.

ok guys, i have some news about another friend, sponsoring his wife and he lives in Ottawa, he applied January 23nd 2012..... his wife got a call on Wednesday as well from the embassy saying that they will ask for an extension for her medical , and the next step should be passport request

well i don't really know what's your timeline , but obviously the Cairo office are working on the files received from Ottawa on January 24th, so cross your fingers and have hope

I have a question. I applied my application on the 28th of august.I translated and authorized ( kahsf elela, police clearance certificate ) in the ministry of justice. then I got an english copy of my birth certificate from the ministry of health. the problem is that I didn't know about authorizing them in ministry of foreign affairs. I send those documents attached with the original copies right away to the immigration office in Toronto.. now as i knew that i had to do this authorization what should I do now. my wife went to the MP of Richmond, BC where we are living she said that she's going to email the Canadian embassy in Cairo asking if they can speed up the process. lets see whats gonna happen been so long and the status never changed since day one ( application received ). any help greatly appreciated

I am a little confused so I am going to write what I think you are saying :

Application sent 28th August (2012?)
Both you and your spouse are in Canada
You applied but didn't get your originals stamped? (If they do not accept them they will ask for new ones.)
Have you received AOR?
I am unsure as to Cairo even having anything to do with your application as you are applying in land, or did you choose outland?
It depends on inland or outland, but I believe no apps get sent to Toronto. Do you mean Mississauga?
I think it is unlikely for the MP to be helpful, if your still under the processing time(which you are). Which will depend on how you applied(inland or outland).

Sponorship App is for the sponsor..the Pr app is for the applicant status

Your going to watch for in changes under the application for PR. Chages such as " in process" or "decision made" But also requests for documents or interview date if either of those are required.
