Welcome to our forum we have found this site to be a wonderful help,In our case we had both arabic and english version and she does need her ID card changed and you need this family paper. One of the egyptian members can better tell you where to go for the proper translations I know my husband mentioned there is only one area they want the translations and registry done I think he said at the ministry.you need the arabic for proof of original and all english for canada.Police records check for egypt and all other areas you travelled to for over 6 months can be made out in english because my hubby's was. And make sure your marriage contract is tranlated to english according to the steps in the embassy they will give you a paper there for the steps.YOU will need to send this with the family class sponsering papers and also she will need it here.Photo copy everything and keep one copy with you and one with her. If the steps are still the same they require original of police records check and application only.Hope this helps a little.

about the family record (kashf el ahl--kead 3a2ly ) many people say it should include ur wife and her family (her parents ,brothers ,sisters ) not for you and ur wife ,,, so she dont need to change her ID (rakm kawmy) from single to married

in my case i did both ..one for me and my family and another one for me and my wife ,,,, and took long to change the ID from single to married ,,,,i think you dont need go through it


birth certificate ,,, i got english version from ministry of health

your wife must send original police criminal record plus the translation

marriage certificate ,,,you translate it from ministry of justic (dar el kada2a el 3aly..in Ramsis street )
and you send copy of both the arabic and english contract .. dont send the original

she need send a photo copy of her passport showing the number and all details

and dont forget to send as much as you can of proofs of relationship even there is a marriage certificate
we all send proofs and we all married

thats what i remeber for now and if you have any question post it here and we all help you for sure ,,, thats why this thread is wonderfull

I intend to modify the post once I am clear about the minor steps and how the best way to do them

My wife just told me that when she called Medical Designated Practicioner they told her the embassy has to send you the documents!!! According to the CIC office and 3912e in case of sponsoring a wife she fills appendix C and goes to them with Quasima and copy of passport. What should be done?

Just ignore what I said because the steps are for foeigner marrying an egyptian to get the legal translation copy for canada. You would already be married as for where fox or anyone who has already done the steps that lives in Egypt can tell you the different places to go if it's not clear on the site I know with us when we went to this one building they were very helpful and was able to tell us what we needed and where we had to go. I can ask my hubby where this was in Cairo.

Do as the directions say... CIC only sends papers for REDO of medicals. this is your first one so download the paper and take it to one of the designated doctors with the documents it states.

Thank you so much. I was angry in my earlier post not at you or anyone here of course. You are all great help. I was angry because I have spoken to the CIC office here. She confirmed what you have said. She also told me the MDP should know better. She also told me to report them to the Canadian Embassy in Cairo. I have checked the cic site and it was clear that MDP's should know that immigration as sponsored spouse do not receive documents from embassy. They (MDP's) also have to know what is required and direct her of what to bring with her. It is very silly when she calls and says I am being sponsored for immigration by my husband. They say sponsorship and immigration are two different things. From what I have seen so far people in Egypt still think that sponsorship is like sending to your wife to accompany you as in gulf countries!!!

I have not heard about this step, take the marriage to Canadian Embassy to legalize it!

I will update these points as we go....

Supporting documents:
1) Identity and civil status documents. An English birth certificate issued from Health ministry (wazaret elsaha).
Kashf El Ahl (qeid eila) issued after changing status to married or you take Quesimah with you (fox says you do not have to do it after changing status in i.d. however I read here by fox:

). I understand it is issued from Sigil El medini then translated.

2) Travel documents and passports (Egyptian passport)

3) Proof of relationship to sponsor I do not know why this is necessary in case you are married!

4) Originals of police certificates and clearances . (Feish we tashbeh then translated.)

5) Proof of medical examination for the sponsored person and each of his or her dependants. The sponsored needs to fill appendix C in 3912e. Make an appointment with MDP, take Quasima and a copy of canadian passport (as fox says take photos)

Here is how I think we can optimize the process (specially if you do not live in Cairo or do not wish to go back and forth between same places):

1) Change the marital status in your ID from single to married and take it with marriage certificates to get something called al kaid al 3a'ely or kashf el ahl (family transcript) from al segel al madany then translate it .Your family means the sponsored, the sponsor and your children not your parents ok. If they do not mind giving you kaid al 3a'ely with Quasima then go ahead to gain time while getting your id changed

2) Take your arabic birth certificate to the minister of the health, they will give you an English birth certificate


3,4,5) For the "Kaed A'ely", Marriage Certificate and Police Certificate get them all translated from the Ministry of
Justice Let the police certifiate be your last paper as it expires

(in case you need other dosuments translated you can translate it at office called (Happy International Business center

6) Authenticate all from the ministry of foreign affairs. Remember anything in arabic has to be taken for authentication before translation because you get translation of the stamps as well...

Excellent info fox82, I would like to have your input on the optimized steps to be done (I tried to have them in a manner of places so all documents that need to be done in Justice department are together, all those need to be done in health ministry are together then all of them need to be stamped by foriegien affairs. Also, times wise for example as you all advised finger printing should be done last)

some one get a call from embassy telling him that his visa is already prepared and ready to get it but his medical will expire soon in jan 25. 2012 and he must first come to embassy and give his passport there then they send it back to him with landing papers and his visa but it will deliver to him with courier and this might take alot of time and he must be first in canada before jan 25 that if he will send them his passport or the other choice that he can go and and make another medical mean re medical and wait untill they will finish his new medical so what is the good choice for him
and he already made anew medical in last december bcz he felt that his medical will be expired soon in jan 25
so is this right i mean they will depend in this one or they will make him doing anew one with thier forms
and how much time shall he wait untill medical will be done and send to embassy and how long it will take all of it till he get his passport and
after that are they will ask him for any anew papers or they will make an interview with him and in his E-case they saying its in progress
