Here is a link to the questions we studied. Most of these questions were asked, however some of the questions are geared to couples who live together and are applying inland but several are for outland applicants as well.

Me TOOOOOOOOOO. October 12th has been a great day!

Now that I've calmed down enough to type coherently I want to hare just how amazing this has been.

I believe three things positively impacted our case.

1) I spent the money to get an immigration lawyer. He processed and packaged our application so completely that when my sponsorship approval letter came, they actually returned 'extra' stuff they didn't need.

I have his name and number if anyone's interested.

2) I wrote one very touching letter to the Minister of Immigration and the Prime Minister of Canada's office every week. I asked for grounds for compassion because I have just lost both of my parents and he lost his remaining parent in May 2011. We were literally alone in two different countries. I never, ever got a response, but I think they may have gotten sick of my emails.....:P

All told, I can't complain. My package was received May 1, 2011 and my husband got the following letter today (just so you all know what to look for when you get it too);

Dear Sir/Madam,

Re: Mr. xxxx xxxxx

DOB: xx/xx/xxxx

This refers to the application for permanent residence in Canada of Mr. xxxx xxxxx under the family class category.

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. xxxxx's file is now ready for visa issuance. In this regard, you are requested to send us the following documents by courier only (such as DHL, TNT, Aramex, etc) to enable us to issue his immigrant visa:

(X) His original/valid passport.

(X) 2 recent photos. Photo specifications attached.

Looking forward to your compliance with our requirements at your earliest convenience.

Regards,

also; this advice from my immigration lawyer (who I can provide the number of if anyone needs his assistance)

Salam xxxx and Dominique,

I`m thrilled this morning to read the email below from the Canadian Embassy in Cairo. Yes, xxxx`s visa is ready for issuance. xxxx now you need to send:

1. your orginal Passport.

2. Two Photos according to the specifications attached (write your name and DOB on the back of each photo)

3. Copy of the email from the embassy to show your file # (copy and past the email and print out in biger bold letters especially file #, name and date of birth)
* Before you send the package please note the visa validity will be only for the validity of the Medicals (One year from the medical tests: I'm not sure when this was done, and you have to land in Canada before the visa expires)

This should be sent by DHL or any other courier to the Canadian Embassy in Cairo ASAP:

If you have any questions feel free to give a call or email me.

P. S. I tried to call this morning but there was no answer.

Best regards,

So I hope that helps anyone in the same boat or coming up to the same boat.

All I can say is I am so happy and relieved. We have agreed he willl travel after Eid. Elhamdulellah.

:P

Congratulation to everyone who finally received news about their immigration application!

On our side... We are trying to stay positive but still no news... We started this process in july 2010... And we are in process since august 15th... Painfully long i must say :(

I do not know if fox82 still reads this forum but i hope you got additional news on your side!

Wow Mels

You got your approval letter in January 2011 and you haven't heard? I would advise you to go to your local Federal Member of Parliament. I did this as well and was always kept apprised of what and where my file was.

They say they can't and won't answer questions if you are still within nomal processing times, so insha'allah you will hear something very soon. The normal 'maximum' is one year. I only waited five months. I will pray for your file to complete soon. My thoughts are with you. I was falling apart after five months, so I can't imagine how you feel. Well, I can, but am extremely grateful I don't have to.

Keep us posted. Seems like things are moving a little faster now. I may have actually benefitted from the fact that my file never made it to Cairo. It was processed in Ottawa.

Best of luck.

today there was an update in my ecas from " PR application received" to " in process" stating that they received the application on april 2011 , started processing it on 3 october 2011 , medicals are received ..

how much time left ? i started the whole process on march 2011

Lilyy

it shouldn't be much longer for you. Our case says "in process" and we have already received a letter stating the visa is ready for issuance. They have not requested an interview or anything. Make sure when you get the notice to send in his passport that you add in the important things that the letter from the embassy doesn't say. You need to put in a cover letter with the applicant's name, address, phone number and Client numbers. Make sure you do this. The letter just says to send in the passport with two photos and gives specifications of the photo size and background but also doesn't say that the applicant's name and date of birth should be on the back of those photos.

I am so relieved I had an immigration lawyer handle the case. I would have found out the hard way otherwise.

Best of luck to all; it seems like there is some kind of push to meet quota as the year draws to an end. I am quite surprised, but definitely NOT complaining. I didn't think we'd see each other until closer to the one year mark after receiving the sponsorship approval letter. Our file was received in Ottawa May 19th and we already have the visa. Just flight details to work out.

I'm so happy and I wish the same happiness for each of you.

Keep us all posted

:P
