Guys, I have a questions regarding the job while you are being sponsored, I am planning to quit my job as I cannot stand it anymore.... plus the sponsor has no job since a while.. so simply both of us are with no jobs while waiting for the immigration ,,,,,

would that be a problem!! btw I didn't quit yet but I am on the very edge to do so....

Thanks in advance..

I'm not sure, but I got this in the e-mail I was sent when I got approval to sponsor my spouse. When we applied I included bank statements, savings, and RRSP information to show that there would be no financial issue when my spouse arrived in Canada.

"The undertaking you signed is an unconditional promise to financially support and provide basic requirements for your sponsored relative(s). This undertaking is not broken by such changes as the granting of Canadian citizenship, divorce, separation, relationship breakdown, moving to another province, or a change in your financial situation. Your obligations as a sponsor begin as soon as your sponsored relative and, if applicable, their accompanying family members become permanent residents of Canada. This undertaking cannot be cancelled once permanent resident visas are issued to them."

Hope this helps!

The expectation is that the sponsor would be responsible to maintain their primary applicant. So bank statements of savings or support from friends/family while the 2 of you establish yourselves would be good to have ready in the event it becomes an issue.

Thanks for both answers...it's kinda clear now, but my decision of quitting this job will always be related on how long will cairo office takes to process the 2nd medical and send us the PPR!! cause apparently this closing of Cairo office will not be counted !! is it true it's 2 to 3 month to process the medical and send the ppr!! and i'm almost waiting for 2 month till now...

Re: Visitor Visa while waiting for PR visa

Okay, thanks for this. We may try, just to see. I am surprised that they would deny this visa, since it is clear that we are going through all the correct channels to get the PR visa. There is no way we would do anything to screw it up now!

Any other thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I tried to invite my husband when my mother was very ill in hospital before she died to at least let him meet her, and they refused... they love to take your money and love even more to slam the door in ur face... becareful about that

Hi everyone,

I haven't been checking the forum lately as I was turned off by the lack of relevant conversation -- but I have some news to report, so I will post this last update and likely won't read the ongoing posts beyond this week (if you have questions, please send me a private message).

I got good news from my MP today indicating that the permanent residency visa has been issued and his passport along with the original documents have been returned to him via DHL courier. My husband was also contacted by DHL and they will be making the delivery this week.

It's been a long and painful process, and frankly, I questioned even posting this message before the passport is in my husband's hands for fear of jinxing its actual delivery, but I feel that the end is near and he will be in Canada very soon!

Thank you to those who supported us, shared your experiences, and I wish you all the best of luck in being reunited with your loved ones.

Take care

Hello everyone. I have a question if any of you can answer for me, my husband's medical has expired three months ago and the visa office didn't contact him about this, what should we do? and what does it mean if they are not contacting him, is it because they have no plan to give him a Visa.

Thank you for helping one another I love reading this forum.

Hey there,

Just wait till they contact him, sometimes they make exceptions and extend the medicals.

That's great! Congratulations! From the information you have on the sidebar, you guys applied in January 2013, and got the visa in June! Wow, that is really fast. I guess some applications are going quicker than others?!

We didn't need my husband's ID for anything, in fact that is one of the last things he changed. Can't you just show them your marriage certificate? Maybe go again and talk to a different person? And just to be reminded, the "kashf el ahl" is the family sheet? I didn't even go with him when he went and got it.
