CAIPS SAYS "FOSS CHECK COMPLETED"?????

Please explain anyone who knows what does this mean. In my CAIPS notes it has mentioned "FOSS CHECK COMPLETED" Then below it are my personal information details, education, experience,language, settlement fund amount, police certificates. Is this the background check considered done?

Please help...

"FOSS" is a central database of applications which is used in this case to verify that the applicant has not been refused a visa from other visa post.

If your case is being dealt with inside Canada, your file is likely to be held in the 'FOSS' computer system rather than in CAIPS. The procedure for requesting a FOSS file is identical to requesting a CAIPS file in every way apart from the fact that we need a different type of IMM5475 'Consent to Disclosure' Form

foss means field operation support system and this system is used by immigration staff to cross reference any information againat applicants

So you mean they did some background check by cross checking it to FOSS if I had been refused of Canadian visa from other visa posts? Is this a standard procedure for all applications? Is this part of their background check? Can we say that my background check is already done at this stage because it has mentioned in my CAIPS that FOSS has been completed?

Did u apply for AEO fFOSS can be dealt for aeo purposes too

No, there was no AEO in my application, and never applied in the past...

checking foss database is a standard procedure and it takes only a click to check foss. it has nothing to do with background check. they usually do secuirty screening through csis rcmp and other databases for background check. other part of bc is contacing your employeer which is done by vo mostly prior medics

for security checks chc had to take help fromvarious agencies sice it is out of thier domain. csis stands for canadian secuirty inteligence services and secuirty screening requests r forwarded by chc to them who then check involvement of applicant in any terrorist activity. they hv their ways to analyize and give advice to chc. rcmp stands for royal canadian mounted police and chc may also send verification request to rcmp for cross reference. apart from these two there are other databases which are shared by different countries to share intel which can also be used to check secuirty threats.

I think u have applied for canadian immigration from LONDON VISA OFFICE but thru a consultant based in Canada. This is why the FOSS is in picture.

My consultant is based in Sharjah UAE, though the registered owner is a Canadian citizen. Any relation??

Since u have applied thru a consultancy firm in Sharjah i need to tell u something.
1. The person u spoke with in the consultancy is not a consultant he is just a PRO.
2. This Sharjah based consultancy must be having a head office in Canada AND from H.O ur docs r forwarded to visA OFFICE.
3. For a registered consultant cross check call ur sharjah consultancy and ask the consultant name with registration number with CSIC.

Yes, the consultancy is owned by a UAE national lawyer who is now a Canadian citizen. I know too their CSIC registration number. They don't have office in Canada. They have a pilot office here in Riyadh. In my E cas status, my address is cared of through my consultant and the consultants office is mentioned as well. My CAIPS as well has the information about the name and address of my consultant. I have no doubt about the legitimacy of my consultant.
