Hi all,

We have applied for our skilled immigration in fast track last year and recieved AOR on 20/10/10 from london office. In AOR they have wrritten to contact them if we havent heard from them in eight months. We havent heard from them yet. What would be the good idea ?

1. To contat them ?
2. Request for CAIPS / GCMS notes. I have my brother living in canada. How can he request our CAIPS notes from CIC. I have read that they have now new GCMS system. What should we request then CAIPS or GCMS or both. We are totally confused that how should we go about it.

Any help in this regard would be appriciated.

You did not contacted your visa office yet. Therefore you can inquire with London office about the status of your file. You can send a Case Specific Inquiry through your ECAS which would be considered faster than sending letter by post or e mail. in fact at this stage there is no benefit in getting the CAIPS/GCMS. But if you don,t get a response from London for your inquiry within 3 weeks then try for your CAIPS. The form is available here with instructions:

Thanks wilson for reply. Are you talking about the application status page that CIC offers. It stats our application is in progress and not much info is there.

would you still recommending not to go for the notes at this point of time ? and what is the best procedure to contact any visa office.

Thanks

Hi nadiaa,

I am talking about Case Specific Inquiry. This method is very useful because it directly goes to your system file and the VO will respond to your request. If you send an e -mail or letter by post, that may be one among hundreds which cannot get a faster attention.

For making a Case Specific Inquiry you have to log on to ECAS and go to the page where you see all your name address and "... In process ". On that page look at the top where you can see Contact us. Once you click on that, another page will open asking some questions. Go according to the instructions and you briefly make your letter in the provided box. After sending it, wait for two or 3 weeks for a reply.

If you still don't get a reply to your inquiry, you can ask for CAIPS/GCMS.

Hope you are clear now.

hi nadiaa, thanks :), you have to contact your consultant for a status inquiry. The visa office may not reply to your request because you have already appointed a consultant.
