Same here. Nothing to report so far and despite it being over 12 months since my application was receieved by Buffalo, no PPR yet.

me too, just sent them in the post office.
Post office said it took 2 days to Ontario, and the e-mail from Buffalo says it takes 15 business days for the passport return, but I can see a lot of people can't get back the passport within one month.. assume they sent by express post canada as well.

I just sent a case specific inquiry yesterday, haven't heard anything yet.
I also requested CAIPS notes almost a month ago so hopefully I find out something soon or better yet, get PPR soon. =]

Hi! Winnipegmb,

have you ever received the initial assessment ? Now I got some clues according to the people' sharing in this forum, including myself.

1) if the files are being processed by Buffalo only, no file transfer, normally people will receive a letter of initial assessment, which Buffalo will advise you that your initial assessment has been done and going to finalize your case.. which PPR will come at least 2-3 months after you get the IA.

2) if the files are being processed by Buffalo, and files got transferred to other visa office, you may not get IA, but will get PPR , about 1-2 months after file transfer.

it's only my sharing after I have been studying this forum for few months.

People those who got the intial assesment letter by snail mail was a due to a glitch in the systems. CIC was not able to send the notfications electronically and so they sent it by snail mail. Then onwards they are sending the RPRF, additional documents, FBI etc request by email. In short people will get RFPR, PPR etc by email even though they did not get the intial assesment.

@4mfamily
I did receive an initial assessment on Oct 28, 2010 with no additional documents required. When I sent an email inquiry in Nov 2010 I was told that "additional information had been requested from other government offices" i.e. background check. Background check appears to be over now since the response to my Jan 2011 email was only that "the application is in process, we cannot provide you with a date".
Not really sure what's keeping them from sending the PPR ...

don't worry. your PPR will come very soon !
It seems that Buffalo office is trying to clear up all the files, to achieve the processing time 11 months.. ( even they just adjusted to 12 months).. it will be your turn very soon!

I just said: "I would like to follow up on the status of my application"

4myfamily,

according to a friend's experiences, he also got the same letter that we received when our passports were requested. when cic mentioned that they will send back the passports within 15days after they received them, they were very consistent to it because my friend got his passports back after 11days from the day he sent his passports.

mine was received by ontario on February 21 and i'm expecting to have it next week.. God bless us!!!

good. I assume you are already in Canada,
do you know if the PR card will automatically send to us ? or do we have to apply it separately? meantime, how about the SIN cards, because we have sin cards because we have work permit, so we have to apply as well?
