I submitted my file in May 2010, well, almost 2.5 years gone, still no ppr... I got my medicals done in may 2012. Do I still have hope? Same as that Jenny, I lost weight and hair almost everyday, really stressed.

So here's one question. After all the disappointment, I think I might have to leave Canada after 5 years in October. But what is going to happen if I leave Canada? Will my file be still in Ottawa? It may sound crazy, but I was looking at the Australian PR process the other day. Maybe Canadian government prefers other PR applicants over me with 3 years of Canadian work experience and $90k salary. They want people to come in and search for a job for a long time because they don't have a Canadian education.

So my file will be dead when I leave Canada?

I am also looking for the answers to your question. what happens when some one leaves Canada when his application is in process?
I heard that few QSW category people got transferred their applications to their country and got the PR. I am not sure if that is that is true and if it is , is that the same case for all other categories too?

waitforever : you have a great advantage if you get your PR. as you are finished 5 years stay in Canada. you will be eligible to apply for Citizenship after 6 months of your PR stamp.

what about GCMS notes says? they should tell you where you applications status ?

All of us are in the same boat. I am really very furstrated and stressed. I have 2 years 4 months of waiting. I am in finishing stage of my studies and need to plane for future. My supervisor asks me if I would like to stay. He has job for me. But if I donot have my PR, I cannot stay as I will lose my job at back home country.
Immigration system here in Canada is humanless, and not fair at all. The first tells us that our application will be finished within 12 month which turn up to now 29months. There is no clear order of approval. I understand some files may finished quickly due to fast medical and security check, but when the differance is more than a year that is not fair. When CIC puts a list of jobs, they donot say will may interest in one more than other. Therefore, all qualified applicant should be treated in order and in equity.
I understand that Canada or any country may refuse any applicant, but when they put certain regulation they should follow.
This delay has very negative impact on us as well, as applicant becoms angur on the CIC system and lose their passion to Canada.

Is it fair to close Buffalo VO and applicant cannot get any replay from Ottawa and they donot know thier actual status? We need to know WHEN is our files to be fanalized so we can plane our life. IS this a compex question??????????????????????????????????????

according to my experience buffalo was far better than cpp ottawa , atleast we were getting reply from buffalo for our emails and but ottawa not single reply
i got last request from buffalo on 25th april 2012 regarding more documents , but ottawa even not requesting any more document or asking for passport request

any bdy can gudie me plz ,my medical gone expire in november first week , i did my medical in canada and right now i am in india so i have to do medical here again or wait for request from ottawa
plz guide me

I got my Passport Request today, asking me to send our passports to Detroit.

Here's my timeline if you are interested:

CSQ Issued: May 2011
Application sent to Federal: September 2011
Medicals done: Feb 2012
PPR: September 2012

ECAS:
- We received your application on Sep 10, 2011.
- We started processing your application on May 2, 2012
- Medicals results received.

ECAS has been showing this since May, my address was shown since July I guess. It's still the same.

I sent them an email two weeks ago (for the first time) asking about the status of my application, got a generic reply in a week, maybe that triggered something, I don't know!

You'll get it sooner or later, just don't think about it too much and try not to schedule your life based on it if possible

Never do medical right now unless they ask. Hope one time point they definitely will write us (1 week -2 years or even in some time frame when we donot need canadian PR anymore). I think they may have some view for processing our backlogged files in strange way.

i am really frustate here , i am getting good jobs here now but in 2 year contract terms , so i am unavailble for thosa contract coz of canadian pr may be i ll get 2morrow or next month
and canadian immigration officer ruining our dreams , really shit system ever experienced in my life

Anyone knows Ottawa direct phone number bcz they are not picking 18882422100 , i called like 100 times, after entering all required info they says all of our agents are busy, please try later on, our least busy days are thursday and friday, i also called these days as well...................same bull shit. i know they are not going to reply my email

on thursday or friday try call earily 9 am , so they pick ur call
moreover u wont get any good reply from them , coz they dont have idea about ours file , they wont give u any idea regarding process
