They are asking you to submit your new original police certificates and a scanned copy of your personal history(this page was part of the PR application form- 18 yrs old history if you remember)
Sorry, my understanding of the letter is ONLY AN UPDATED PERSONAL HISTORY is needed. It is the only item given as a bullet point.

The rest of the letter explains about sending scanned copies by email and original poice certificates as regular/couriered mail. This part seems to have been copied from an standard template.

Dear friends,

The famous facebook group "Les oubliés de buffalo en action" met with the directors of CIC ottawa centre, and here is the interview. It gives us hope. (english translation by BING is below the french version) You can visit their facebook page to see the actual post.

Proceedings of the forgotten/CIC meeting the meeting lasted more than an hour. We met with the directors of the Ottawa pilot centre. They listened with attention to the sum of financial, psychological, galleys, etc...They brought many answers to our questions.

English version

1 - No folder is lost. Even the inactive folders (which are unanswered requests for additional documents) and which have been archived can be identified. If your MP tells you that you are not on the system, ask him to check in two computer systems (old and new), date of birth, the name and the country of origin and client ID are enough to get.

2 - The published timetable is feasible. The majority of the files will be processed in the advertised processing time.

3 - For most files that are easy to treat, the attribution to an Ottawa agent raises the finalisation of the folder (e-Brown or CRP: the famous email inviting you to send either passport or photocopies). It will be gifts the first responses in February 2013. For folders that require additional information, an agent will contact you within the same timeframe.

4 - E-cas are not updated by the agents, it is an automated system that will be replaced so it does not rely too much on it.

I hope this gives us lot of good news in the coming month.......

Minutes of the meeting Forgotten / CIC

The meeting lasted more than an hour. We met with the directors of the pilot center in Ottawa. They listened carefully to the sum of galleys financial, psychological, professional, etc ... They brought a lot of answers to our questions.

7 15% of cases of forgotten were treated to date. CIC promises huge changes by the end of February.
8 - For the count of eligibility for citizenship, there is no possibility for immigration and citizenship laws are different.
9 - The free and open work permit is currently not an option for CIC who wants to handle the cases of RP and do not multiply requests for temporary. The last BO can facilitate things for applicants who are not in Quebec, but on this side, not much to wait.
10 - For holders of a 2010 CSQ, please contact Nadine (nadine.coste@hotmail.com), special support will be set up.
11. For families who are expecting a baby and are no longer temporary permit (therefore without health insurance), please also contact Nadine at the same address, special attention will be given to records. (Translated by Bing)

I wish other applicants from other provinces would have organized protests like these. It would have created more pressure on CIC.
I am kinda pessimistic about the whole thing. Only 30 officers who take the final decision on your file. Each and every case is different
some are straight-forward some are complicated therefore even if CIC finalizes 60 cases each day u can imagine how long its going to take.
10000/60~167 days. That is almost half a year. Please note that CPP-O has to process files from other categories as well.I think now our files have become more like a lottery ticket. Whoever, gets lucky will get PPR first.

Not happy at all.

Dude what I understand from the email is that you need to send your PCC again.
However, if you are confused about the whole thing just send them the personal history
immediately and in the meanwhile order new PCC and GCMS. If CIC wants to give u PPR they will
give you PPR in few weeks time.

Your PCC will take at least 1 month or so to come through.
If you havent received a PPR by that time send them the personal history(updated to the most
recent date) and PCC again.

After reading the email I am guessing that a case officer has been assigned to your application.
Good luck my friend.

Hi newbie1982

May I ask you "if it says IN PROCESS on ecas, does that mean someone is assigned to look at my file?"
Thanks in advance!!!

[/quote]

My file went "in process" back in June 2012 but I havent received any updates as yet.
As per GCMS my application was assigned to 1 or 2 different case officers at some point
during the whole processing procedure. Now the reason I am saying is this under "application
assignment" field "Assigned by" and "Assigned to" had different codes which I am guessing
are the code for case officers. Also under activity log the "assigned to" fields have the same
codes. I know this is confusing if you havent seen GCMS notes.

I have ordered GCMS back in October and 1 in January but there is not a single change between
the two. Maybe my security checks are not complete or whether it is just collecting dust at this
point I dont know. But I am assuming that a new case officer would be assigned to my PR application
once it is finalized .

Yes it is... but our application was changed to in process before the expiration of our medical. I dont know why do they have to do medical again. as far as we know this is not our fault if the process took so long.

I agree with Wpan. They only need an updated personal history as they want to know what you have been doing since you submitted your PR application in 2011.
