Yes, they have given 30 days to submit the passport.
I have been waiting for them to reply on my status change email I sent last week; but then they sent a PPR. I have replied to that again.
I will now wait for a while to see if they reply.
If they don't I will have to send passport to Detroit with a cover letter stating the story.

Isnt there a phone number for Ottawa? You can try that or faxing. The reason is that lets say you do end up sending your passports, detroit isnt your processing centre its just the stamping consulate. They should then forward your case to ottawa, so it might cause a bit of delay. I think its better if you contact ottawa through fax or phone.perseverantguy said:

This situation is no different than one getting married during the process, yours was just at a later stage. I think you might need to fill some forms, send the marriage certificate etc. Now, her background check etc. might also happen which might delay the process. I dont think they will ask you to sponsor your wife as you are not a landed PR and as of now your current marital status doesnt match your file so you might not have your passports stamped.perseverantguy said:
