I think that means they have not started security clearance, they only start security clearance i.e. background checks when needed not for every one. Usually they start BG checks after the medical results are passed.

Getting upset wont help.. My medicals are already expired. Order GCMS notes to more clarity

Nope additional BG checks are not for every one, no body knows for which cases they do additional BG checks, some says they go through: name, country of residence check to identify whether or not the additional checks are required.

GOOD NEWS ;D for me mostly and for other 2011 applicants!

I got my Passport Request today, asking me to send our passports to Detroit.

Here's my timeline if you are interested:

CSQ Issued: May 2011
Application sent to Federal: September 2011
Medicals done: Feb 2012
PPR: September 2012

ECAS:
- We received your application on Sep 10, 2011.
- We started processing your application on May 2, 2012
- Medicals results received.

ECAS has been showing this since May, my address was shown since July I guess. It's still the same.

I sent them an email two weeks ago (for the first time) asking about the status of my application, got a generic reply in a week, maybe that triggered something, I don't know!

You'll get it sooner or later, just don't think about it too much and try not to schedule your life based on it if possible

I think your file was in Ottawa through out, started processing in May might be the same thing as when they checked your files. It seems they are still going through May. July transfer applicants still have to wait I guess
