what does due date mean in GCMS? The date the VO comes back to look at your file again?

I guess so. I remember someone said that due date is the remainder for VO. So VO comes back to look at my file and possibly assign another due date. I could be wrong.

It depends, for security check they assign initialy for 3 months and after 3 months they keep adding one month in it.. for other checks initial BF date is less than 3 months.

What's the initial BF date? What does BF stand for?

BF Date = Bring Forward Date and its same as Due Date (in most of cases) Its a reminder to VO, not all checks are done by VO for instance, for security check, they forward case to govt agencies to do it (i am not sure they have some portal to access it) and for criminality they forward to local RCMP of your town (if in Canada), now VO waits for their response but he has other cases to work on, therefore he put BF Date on your file and move to another case. That BF will be initial BF, because the task (e.g. Crimenality) was initially created... let suppose BF Date reaches and still VO didn't find any update on Crimenality he will put another BF date (this time the bf date will be of 1 month). They repeat this process untill they get update on the task.

Thanks for the explanation!! So my file won't be touched until Sept 22 then. Hopefully, when they reopen my file things go really fast. :)

Hi guys,

I recently got an email from Ottawa office that they want police certificate from my country. Now i have a question for you.

- I came here in Canada in 2009 and i already have a police certificate from my original country dated 2009. Shall i send that one ? (i guess i attached taht letter with my application as well)
- Or shall i take new pictures and get a new police certificate using those new pictures ? (pictures will be taken in canada, obviously and letter would be sent from Pakistan).

Any advice?

Police Clearance certificates expires in 6 months, the one you have dated 2009 is already expired and they will not accept it. You have to apply for new one with new photose on it.

If you are from Pakistan then you can apply for this PC through Pakistan Consulate/Embassy in your city however it will take at least 2 months. I will recommend to ask you relatives back home to get PC from local Police Station and they can get that one in a week.

hope it helps.

Take this positively, you know now your file is in ottawa, they are processing it and found this missing document. Has your ECAS gone to In Process? Most probably your next due date will be 2 months from the time you got that email. Did they ask you to submit the required docs in 60 days?

no body can keep his police certificate from home country current as you mentioned, if they have been living outside their home country since they submitted the then-current police certificate. For example, if you submitted your India certificate along with your other application in Jan 2012, that certificate should be deemed as current, if you have been living in Canada and never left there. If VO starts to review your file first time in Sep 2012, he should not ask you to resubmit another police certificate since that was current when you submitted to CIC in Jan 2012.

Thats not entirely true.. 22 september is 1 year from the time you were issued AOR so its more like a maximum date by when the case should be finalised. In the meantime if your file is complete they might check and provide you update!

in other words, if everything goes well, you will get PPR before Sep 22? So Sept 22 is not BF date, instead it indicates the maximum time the VO must finalize: 1 year from your medical done,i.e. Sep23 2011. So, what is BF on earth? Can be BR after Sept 22 2012 in that case?

It would be even better if my file is complete before Sept. 22! Ever since I got my GCMS notes and started extending my WP, I began to not to worry about it too much.

Each section has a due date, which previously has been called BF Date. For instance eligibility has a due date and other sections as well. The due date mentioned by seulkiro was under ASSIGNMENT and was talking about the entire application to be completed by Sept 22. That is more of less a deadline rather than a reminder for a due date..

Are you extending the work permit using PNP certificate?
