to clarify here in some cases ottawa direct you to send your passport to Fort Mc in Ontario and when u receive it back u see the stamping is done from detroit...

it happened with one of my friend last month

Fort Mc in Ontario?????? I think you probably mean to send it to Windsor and they will forward it to Detroit?

Not anymore actually, fort erie used to forward to Buffalo now its windsor which forwards to Detroit!

I sent email to Detroit VO yesterday. They responded and said my file was transferred to Ottawa from Buffalo. My ECAS shows my application received in Feb 2012. It looks like they sent my file to Buffalo. I always think my file never went to Buffalo, in Ottawa only. No clue. My ECAS has no other update, no medical received, no in progress. medical received in may per tracking number, not in my ECAS. I cannot approve they really received it since no status in my ECAS. Just no clue. i will get GCMS in 2 weeks.

Got my GCMS notes today. It's 31 pages long (I was expecting 2 pages at most...) And I don't quite understand it From my understanding, I "MAY" passed everything except for security. But I'm not sure about it since the whole thing looks like a mess...

In short, look at the first page and see in front of eligibility,criminality and others what is that status. Under Assignment, what is the due date? Then what is the primary visa office? Go down and under Paper File History, what is the last transaction and when.. Finally under Notes, what is the latest note made..

This should summarize the latest development in your case. All these notes are telling you is any transactions made, thats all. If you have any questions, kindly ask me.

Security - is confidential and is always blanked out before sending GCMS Notes off.

It has been 3 months since you did medical, right? Did you contact Ottawa if they received it? Once you get GCMS Notes it should clear your doubts, i hope!

My case is not a typical case since I missed my AOR and medical request for 7 months So right now it is still quite possible that they will close my case, or ask for additional docs, or require complicated security check... Who knows ??? Anyways, here is my timeline and hope it will help:

March 2011 Submitted my application
Sep 2011 Ecas updated: Application received, and sent AOR and medical request at the same time
April 2012 Medical done
April 4 Transferred to New York
After a few days Ecas updated: Medical received
May 18 2012 Ecas updated: In process

- I came here in Canada in 2009 and i already have a police certificate from my original country dated 2009. Shall i send that one ? (i guess i attached taht letter with my application as well)
- Or shall i take new pictures and get a new police certificate using those new pictures ? (pictures will be taken in canada, obviously and letter would be sent from Pakistan).

My due date is Sept. 22 2012. And the note was generated on June 25 2012. I'm going to extend my work permit which expires in Sept 18. Hopefully, something good happens before that. But I doubt it.

The latest note made was about AOR and medical by Sept 23 2011.

the police certificate you get shouldnt be older than 3months from the time you submit them to CIC. "The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application."

what does due date mean in GCMS? The date the VO comes back to look at your file again?
