Having lived here for last 5 years, it has been so so, so far. like anywhere in the world, it has up and downs, good and bads,
It is not a perfect one, and might even say far from perfect.

but as an immigrant, you can make a good life. that is the whole point.
It is nigher paradise, nor hell... It is just good. and wait, who knows, one could make a better fortune, if invested the time somewhere else. that is the beauty of life.

I'm an inland applicant. I'm not sure if anyone can apply PR though provincial nominee program outside Canada though.

Yes, it's not a perfect place but has been a good place to live so far.

It becomes a hell occasionally during winter.

That's what happens in Canada so might as well enjoy it.

PS It appears that at least two of us received a reply beforehand saying Case is well advanced... Medicals extended... expect to hear in several weeks. Finalize in several months So CIC seem to be doing well of late. At least I am in a mood to say congrats to them !

Will still update this forum when I receive GCMS

OMG sharuu. Big congrats!! It's great to hear that you finally got PPR. :)

It's been a while since I visited the forum. I was trying to avoid thinking about it as much as I could.

But here I am again. :P

I wanted to know what's going on my application before visiting my family for holidays.

So I contacted my MP yesterday to check what's happening.

He told me to contact him again if I don't hear anything from CIC in 4 months. It's been 4 months and no news from CIC so I contacted him again.

Unfortunately, they haven't touched my application for the last 4 months. But the good news is that Ottawa is currently working on files dated April of 2011.

I hope that I will hear something from CIC in the first quarter of 2013!

It seems Ottawa is working hard to issue PPR. So hang in there and be optimistic. You guys should hear something soon too.

Finger crossed!

Thanks bud.. where have you been?

Is there an order in processing files? How does Ottawa pick an application from the pile of 9000+ applications which were transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa. May be it's random and it doesn't matter if you applied in Dec. 2010 or April 2011 or Sept. 2011. It's a matter of luck I have come to believe.

Their focus is pre sept 2011 applicants so lets see..

Thanks for the reply Man, that is certainly good news. I need to get the PR status before I graduate in Aug. next year. It's a lot easier to find a good job for those who have a permanent residence status. This is the main reason why PR is so important to me. I know folks with qualifications and competence that could not take good jobs only because they didn't have the PR status.

I dont think it should take till August. I think March is when we should see most people have their PPR. They are working towards it so it shouldnt be long. You are nearly there :)

thanks sharuu for the reply. I have the impression that the PR visa (I am not a citizen of a visa exempt country) is valid untill the expiration date of the medical exams, is that right?

I wish and hope so. At least I need something to be happy about over the holiday season.
If CIC can make that a Christmas present, I will be glad!!

Been trying not to think about it.

I feel the game is close to the end from watching more people getting PPR.

My AOR is from Sept 2011 as well. Let's hope for the best!
