You can apply for a work permit and TRV. I did the same thing just recently. However, I don't think you can go to the border to apply for your work permit. I think only US citizens have that privilege. Also, if you're not from a visa exempt country, you have to have a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). Go ahead and apply ASAP. Depending on what side of the Mississippi river you live in the states, you have to send the application package to either L.A or D.C. West of the river shall send to L.A. Hope this helps. Oh wow, thanks for the quick response, it rely helps. But one other question, i read somewhere that it s not advisable to apply for TRV while your PR is in process, is that true? And you said you did the same,may I ask how and which one of the TRV or WP did u apply for? greatly appreciated.
