Hi, Guys

I recieved same reply today from NY office which i got 15 days ago, My file is still with an immigration officer for review, How long it takes to review one file????

This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for permanent residence to Canada from our office in Buffalo. Your file is currently with an Immigration Officer for review. In the interim, you must advise this office immediately in writing of any change in your civil status or family composition (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth of new child, etc.) or mailing address.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.

This is strange ... your file is "In Process" since Aug 30 and the reply says "with immigration officer for review" ? I though review part is before status is set to "In Process"

This means we can't count on our status in CIC app status webpage ... and that's why many people got med. req directly after RVBO with no "In Process" in between ... and that might be related to what was told in 2nd AOR letter that the CIC app status is not for applicants outside canada (something along those lines)

I guess I should send them an email and inquire about my status :(

That is a real nightmare. It looks like the consulates in the united states are running out of quotas for this year 2010 !

God helps them all:

My letter told me to complete the medical examination and send the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) within 60 days of the date of the letter.

my status still says recieved by visa office.(i had applied under fsw2 category and my 2nd aor is dated april 28, 2010). Now I am eligible to apply in the cec category as of november 1, 2010. do you think it is worth it for me to put in a 2nd application in the cec category? I am currently in canada on a work permit.

Hi, Druid2010

I am also in same situation like you, i am also eligible for CEC but i chekced CEC processing time on Trackitt and it takes around 280-300 days + Processinfg fees

I talked to qorax on saturday on trackitt.com.. he said that maximum 8 mnths are taken for backgroud check........he also said that bcz of some issue with file they r checking background throughly and he asked to wait for few days the medical will around the corner........he asked for caips .....

i am also eligible for cec from august 2010 but confused whether i should apply besidesFSW or not .....

I received the following reply in email (I had sent a status inquiry a week ago):

"Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the
processing of your application will be complete."

Any comments?
