Bridging work permit application

today is feb 6th 2020
I just called CIC reading to my bridging work permit(ask processing time)
Surprisingly they just inform me that i have to mail everything instead of apply online
which means all of my previouse actions regarding to the application was not correct
she told me that i have to mail in before the expiry of my current work permit

MY question: i do not trust her, and i don not think she knows what she is talking about
