Can anyone tell me exactly what the BOWP checklist of documents consists of...

I'm guessing:

- Document Checklist
- Generic application form for Canada (or some variation)
- Copy of passport identity page
- Copy of most recent WP
- Digital photo
- Receipt of payment

.... anything else I missed?

Ah success!

Thanks Mark, I just redid the questionnaire giving slightly different answers and it does direct you to a 'Have you submitted a PR Application?' and 'Have you been approved in principal for PR?' questions.

After that, I was home and dry, thank you sir!

Exactly -

Just took it for a test run..

1. What would you like to do in Canada? - WORK
2. How long are planning on staying in Canada? - PERMANENTLY
4. Currenty country of residence? - CANADA
...enter the rest of personal info...
7. Permanent resident of USA? - NO (unless you are)
8. Current immigration status in Canada? - WORKER
9. Have you been told by CIC that you were approved in pinciple? - YES (AOR)
10. Have you submitted a PR application in Canada? - YES
11. Do you have a written job offer? - NO
12. Current marital status? - ...personal info...
13. Province of distination? - ONTARIO (or whatever)
14. Open Work Permit (click to CONTINUE)
15. Code generated

Worked just fine for me. No problems!

this worked for me, but i got stuck at the "Create your personal checklist" part.. where they ask "do you have an LMO" and if i say no, it wouldn't let me continue! help please!

9. Have you been told by CIC that you were approved in pinciple? - YES (AOR)

Are you sure AOR is considered approved in principle? I think approved in principle means that application status is "passed" . please clarify?

CEC: the “Eligibility CEC” decision has been set to “Passed” or the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter/e-mail has been sent from CIO.

Conversely, applicants who apply under in-Canada PR classes (Live-in Caregiver class, Spouses or Common-law Partners in Canada class, Protected Persons, etc.) become eligible for open WPs once their application has been “approved in principle”, or upon submission of their application.

When someone meets the minimum requirements to be a permanent resident, and has received a positive stage one assessment of their application (an “approval in principle” letter). In this situation, they will not become a permanent resident until an officer decides that they meet all remaining requirements and are not inadmissible.

Regardless of how you interpret these statements, the fact is that you need an AOR.

So, here's some food for thought. They came up with this new category, only to restrict it to people who had their application evaluated, however many months after receiving AORs. This category is for those whose permits are expiring within 4 months. What would you do if your permit was expiring, yet your interpretation is that you do not have the status of "passed" yet, but do have an AOR.

Just simply pointing out the fact that to ME this would make no sense. Here's another one: "They have received a positive eligibility decision on their PR application under one of the Economic Class programs above; and". Ergo my point!

Hi,

I am planning to apply Bridge Open workpermit through paper(not online). I have couple doubts related to IMM5710E.

Q1. I am applying for one or more of the following: (i)A work permit with the same employer, (ii)A work permit with a new employer (iii) Restoration of temporary resident status as worker, (iv) Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit.
for answering above question which option I need to select?
Q2. Details of Intended work in Canada- Intended location of employment in Canada?
I need to select my province and city?
Please answer to my questions

Thanks in advance

I have a question here as well:

I am currently on PGWP which is expiring soon. I have a AOR on my permanent residency application.
I am applying for OWP and the employer will be the same as the one I am with (BUT I have no LMO) .
In this case, I am applying for:
- A work permit with the same employer
OR
- Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit

Thanks in advance ;)

Thx guys.

I have been stuck with these online questions for an hour and couldn't get the right form :(
it's finally on IMM5710. ;D
Thx CEC2013

What I understood, to be open I marked WP with new employer and I wrote N/A on employer information. And no LMO.

I CURRENTLY HOLD PGWP WITH NO EMPLOYER SPECIFIC. WHAT WILL I MARK ON QUESTION NUMBER 3 ( FORM IMM5710E) WHERE IT WAS ASKED

I AM APPLYING FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. A work permit with the same employer
2. Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit
3. RESTORATION OF TEMPORARARY RESIDENT STATUS AS A WORKER

Question re. the questionnaire that is 'supposed' to help....

It's asking me to fill out a Schedule 1 Application for Temporary Resident Visa.
Pretty sure that I have never had to do this. I'm on a PGWP and am UK citizen. Am I answering a question wrong, or just very confused?

I logged into MYCIC online application-> did the questionairre-- it generated the checklist- uploaded everything and done. I don't know what code you guys are talking about but my application for BOWP went thru along wth the restoration fee as well.

Ashi

Is that 5357B_1? I had to fill that too. I think they just use that for background check purposes. It's not necessarily that you want or need a TRV.

You are the same situation as I was. I used the last option on question three. Initial or Extension of temp permit. It makes sense since you are going from one type of open work permit to another type of open work permit. Employer is not of consequence here so those other options are not applicable.
