Hi Everyone,

On Monday, November 9th, 2015, at the Law Society of Upper Canada's Immigration Law Summit, two CIC representatives provided updated instructions with regards to Bridging Open Work Permit eligibility and the use of the initial Acknowledgement of Receipt letter (PDF) as sufficient proof.

They stated that the initial AOR letter sent to the applicant after submission of their e-APR can now be used in order to obtain a Bridging Open Work Permit pursuant to s.205(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.

I wanted to share this with everyone as I know this as been a point of great confusion for everyone involved: applicants, representatives and even CIC employees.

I've attached a Screenshot that was provided to us.

Great News!!! Thank you so much for the information.
+1 for you!!

+1 for sharing this information!

people were doing that anyway. Most people don't get notified of the second AOR so waiting for it was pointless.

Question, in the application for for BOWP, there is a required document "Proof of medical exam", I already did that exam a month ago before apply for PR, do I need to do that exam again? or send the same proof paper?
The proof paper that I have included the Express Entry application number.

You can use the same one

Folks,

Just a quick question. May be someone already asked that in this forum but couldn'r find an answer:

How long does it take for BOWP to be approved?

My current work permit expires in the end of March 2016.

Right now rhe processing is at about 100-117 days but to apply it has to be within four months of your current work permit expiring

Thanks, Elitelove87. It actually is within 4 months, so I will start applying for that.

can we apply it in implied status?

@Elitelove87 are you sure I can use the same one, because the PR medical Exam contains line called "Upfront medical exam type : PR" !! also it contains the express entry number.

Folks,

Question for those who applied online just recently:

I'm filling the application online but the set of the documents is quite simple:
IMM5710 form, IMM5713 (use of representative) form, Proof of Medical exam, Marriage Certificate, Passport and Digital photo and additional docs for my family members.

They do not ask to upload AOR or the PR application number anywhere, except UCI number.

I am not sure if I'm doing a right thing.

Thanks in advance for your help.
