Hi all, here's my predicament.

Applied for a BOWP in Feb 2019 because my IEC expired in March. Assumed it was all set up

Received confirmation of PR in July and had appointment booked for landing in Vancouver for 2nd Aug

Get to landing appt and they say BOWP had been cancelled. It is my fault, they had sent a message to my CIC account in June asking for my BC POP confirmation. I did not get an email notification of the message and they gave me a 7 day window.

After consulting a lawyer we applied to restore my status, current processing times are at 90days which takes us to mid November. My PR offer expires mid December.

I have spoken to the government and they suggested crossing the border and re entering as a visitor, my lawyer said this is a risky move in my situation, she said a better idea was to re enter into an airport, but I can't afford to fly anywhere at the moment.

Does anyone have any ideas? Would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

There is no difference between leaving and returning on a flight vs. flagpoling at the border. In both cases, you leave Canada and return to seek entry to land as a PR. Flagpoling is just a hell of a lot faster and cheaper.

Note that you would not be entering as a visitor. You will present your COPR and land as a PR.

I haven't got COPR just a letter asking for the landing interview. Can I request a COPR because of my situation?
What exactly did they tell you at the landing interview? Your BOWP issue shouldn't have led to your PR not being processed.

I had to provide all work permits including bridging visas, once I couldn't provide the BOWP he checked the system and found the message that had been sent to me and said I had to sort that out before he could land me

Ah, ok. COPR = Confirmation of Permanent Residence. You stated in your first post that you had received your "confirmation of PR", which I understood to mean that you had received your COPR.

No, you can't request a COPR. Either you wait for Restoration or take your chances leaving and re-entering in order to legalize your status.

Ok thanks for the replies. I have booked a flight back home to England for 2 weeks in order to re enter the country as a visitor.
Couple of questions; what do I tell the border officials, either going home or coming back in? Do I have to ask for them to set my status as a visitor? Is it just a case of getting a stamp in the passport? Why would they refuse my entry?

Canada has no border checks when leaving.

When you enter, you show them you have been approved for PR and will be completing your landing at an IRCC office. With an approved PR app, there is very little chnace of being refused entry.
