I'm a Sept 2014 applicant as well.

The more you wait, the more time you get by having few months as "implied status" and you can hope that they'll finalize the PR. On the other end, with the "implied status" you don't have any longer public health coverage (in my case OHIP) because it expires with your visa expiry.
Did you call service Ontario regarding OHIP extend coverage?

I can confirm: if you try to extend your OHIP coverage while on implied status it will be denied, because you don't have documents backing your status.
Next you take that denial and appeal it to OHIP Eligibility Review Committee and in couple of weeks you will get it approved.

Even if you don't appeal once you receive your BOWP (or PR) you will get reimbursed if you request it. Limitations:
- only expenses that would have been covered by OHIP and you paid for out of your own pocket will be reimbursed
- only expenses in 3 months before status was restored will be reimbursed

I don't know how long you have to wait for the cheque - I'll be calling them about mine next week - it's been over a month.

could you please elaborate on the appeal process? I know the denial could be verbally not in writing since your face to face with Service Ontario officer! also since pregnancy is covered by OHIP, would they reimburse after!

Thanks

Guys,

Couple of questions
I have seen some posts about implied status and continue working etc etc. Does anyone know if you are allowed to take/start new job on implied status?

I am Jun 2014 Applicant, I have Closed WP until July 2017 but I don't have a job. I applied for BOWP on Dec 09. my GCMS says Eligibility recommended passed but what are the chances of getting it approved since my WP is not expiring?

You might not need the refusal in writing, but you should be able to get one just in case - you ask for the supervisor, tell them what the situation is and ask for the refusal in writing. They also should be able to tell you how to appeal the decision - I was provided with both: written refusal and the information.

Implied status effectively extends the duration of your old work permit, but it doesn't change the conditions of it - going from closed WP to implied status means you are still locked with your employer.

Your first BOWP what documents did you showed to them?
for my first bowp i didnt even have an aor bcz applied like 2 days before my work permit was expiring, it was taking much longer for aor at that time so i wrote a cover letter explaining that i applied for my PR n still waiting for aor so by the time they got to work on my bowp the aor was already issued in the system

Hi,

I want to apply for BOWP online.
my PR application also includes my wife, she is outside Canada.

while answering the question for the BOWP do I have to say that I have family member accompanying me? or just apply for myself, since my wife will get her PR anyway?

Also, there is a question that says:
If I Applied for Permanent Residence to an office in Canada and was determined to be eligible for Permanent Resident status (first stage approval) ?

how would i know if I have first stage approval?

any advice?
