Bowp on implied status

Urgent Post ITA
I had applied for a study permit as my work permit was expiring .. however I received ITA 5 days after work permit expired .. I am on implied status , however can I apply for BOWP while on implied status as I don’t think the study permit will be approved as I already received ITA and would prefer to continue working . I already have AOR

No. A valid work permit is required to apply for a BOWP.

You work permit needs not to be expired, you're not eligible for BOWP.

I don't think you are implied status, it anything it seems like you are staying in Canada illegally, I qm pretty sure sure work permit had a condition saying "must leave Canada by - date-". If such date has passed, you are ij the country illegally.

I'm not entirely sure, but you gain implied status when extending a work or study permit, not when transitioning between study to work or work to study.

Incorrect. As long as OP applied for the study permit before their work permit expired, they are NOT in Canada illegally. Implied Status is granted when a person applies to extend their temporary residency status (worker, student or visitor) before expiry of their current status. It doesn't matter if they are switching from worker to student or student to visitor or whichever.
