Just submitted work permit extension online on Jan 10, 2015. I am an old CEC applicant from October 2014 still waiting for MR. My current work permit will expire in June...good luck everyone!

Your application will be refused. You don't meet one of the requirements:

You must also:

currently be in Canada,
have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within four months,
have applied for an open work permit, and
have paid the processing fee and the Open Work Permit Holder fee.

Do you have to be physically in Canada to apply for the BOWP?
I am currently out of the country for work
If applying online how would they know if you're not?

I applied for my BOWP for my wife and I in September 2015. I know we are both eligible for one year on the BOWP as I have completed my 3 years on the post graduate work permit- my spouse is on my dependent.

Looking at the current timelines, my hunch is I may have to apply for a second BOWP sometime next year if CEC still holds me up and there is no decision made. This is the worst case scenario , I want to be prepared for.

Can you please advise if I will get a second BOWP , if so then for what duration after completing 4 full years of work in Canada

I applied online for Myself and My Spouse on Jan 3 2016.
Our current BOWP,SOWP expires on April 30th 2016.

I dont think there is any restriction on the number of BOWPs you can get. As long as you have AOR (PR applied before 1st Jan 2015) you will get BOWP.

Guys i applied my 2nd BOWP 7th Jan 2016, my current one is expiring on 5th May..... Still no updates

Why for BOWP application we need to upload medicals details, i really don't understand.

I applied on February 10th online, my BOWP got approved yesterday. I received my CoPR a few weeks back (I'm an October applicant) and I have an appointment in 2 weeks to do an inland landing. I didn't want to cancel my application just in case, never thought I'd have it so quickly...

I did send a copy of my medical report in my BOWP application as I got my MR last year in July. Didn't know if it was mandatory or not to be honest!

Medicals are not necessary for an online BOWP application, however if you say you have completed medicals, you will be asked to upload the results.

For some one keeping track, I had applied for my and my spouse's second BOWP, SOWP on 3rd January. It has been approved on April 7th. Should be receiving the WP document by mail soon.
Note: i didnt send Medical reports with my applications.
