Hello all,

I have applied for BOWP for my family online on Sept 04, 2013. Received approval notices on October 06.
Processing time was 32 days.

Congrates PRapp!
It came before 41 days, current processing time...

Thank you Nick_ind.

Quick question

As it did not specifically state I needed to send it, I did not include a copy of my AOR with my application, but I did include the application number of my PR in the cover letter.

At the time of sending off my BOWP I had received my AOR.

Is this something to worry about? Has anyone actually had their BOWP turned down because they did not include a copy of their AOR? Nowhere did it mention to include it...

Thx

Hi,

I have received my BOWP recently and it is walid till Sept next year.

I have one question regarding my status in canada.

Incase PR application gets rejected before the BOWP expires, do I need to leave Canada or can I work till the work permit is expired?

I appreciate your responses.

You can stay until BOWP expires

When did you apply for BOWP? Did you include AOR and how much time was left on your original wp?

We sent our CEC PR application on 28th Feb 2013, and got AOR somewhere around 15th April. My husband is the principal applicant on our application and I am the dependent. We need to apply for BOWP since our permits expire Jan 2014.

We are going ahead with online application. My question is whether we should have 2 separate BOWP applications with our 2 separate online accounts OR just one online application with both our details?

Thaks lpc.

I have applied my BOWP on 12th Aug, It was online application. I did not included the AOR, but i have provided an explanation letter. My Original WP expires on 08th Oct, 2013.

Submitted BOWP Sept 25th, received email confirmation Sept 26th.

I have a general BOWP question. Does BOWP become effective AFTER your original work permit expires, or it becomes effective as soon as you receive?

The current visa expires January 20th, 2014.

Thanks

as soon as you receive this...so lets say you will receive it in next 40 days , so from that day till next 11 months...they won't count it after Jan 2014 till dec 2014.

Correct. As soon as CIC issues a new WP the old ones becomes invalid.

Thanks!

Does anyone know under the BOWP, if you must be employed under someone else? Can you start your own business?

Your husband as a principal applicant can apply for your BOWP while he is submitting his application through his account. He needs to select the respective options is his checklist.

Oh..Please ignore my comment above. I forgot that BOWP rules have changed. Please refer to the new OB:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob485A.asp

I think you should still be able to apply as I mentioned in my earlier comment as OB485A says that :
"For spouses of CEC applicants: there are no set preconditions to be met by the principal CEC applicant."

But I would request the users to advise here who have submitted similar application after the OB485A is announced.
