Did you apply online or paper application?

I hired an agent as I was really busy at work then. She applied online. I had her contact CIC about a week ago and they told her that my case will be processed "within a month".

I believe BOWP applications should be processed without delay since those including myself who are eligible to apply for immigration have the right to continue working to make ends meet until they are finally approved for the PR status...otherwise how can we just wait for their strike to end when we have no choice but to remain in Canada without working?? >:( :(

You're on implied status until you receive your BOWP. You're allowed to keep working under the same conditions.

It's odd though that they took so long to process it! When did your work permit expire?

I just got mine today! ;D

My permit expired on June 12th. I left the company on that day, as I had a new job offer from another company (they are still waiting for me), presuming that I would receive a BOWP soon based on the posted processing time. PAFSO strike completely ruined my plan...

Ohhh that really sucks! Sorry to hear that! Wonder why it's taking so long, I don't think anyone else had a delay in receiving their BOWP. Fingers crossed you'll get it soon.

Thanks LCM21, I've been checking other posts in this forum and it seems like I'm the only one whose app has been taking so long to be processed...I may contact my agent again....

Hello Guys,

These professional photo shop is charging a lot of money for the digital photo ..don't understand the rational behind it. Decided to do myself.

You can take photos by yourself. If you look up online there are some websites that you can upload your digital photo and modify according to the CIC-required spec.

Thanks Takman,

How did you do that:? Can you share that website? How do I ensure that frame size...and the size of the head must be between 31 mm / 36 mm.,

Cic requirement is

Dimensions:

The final frame size of the photo must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8" x 1 ¾").
The photographs must show the full front view of the head, with the face in the middle of the photograph, and include the top of the shoulders.
The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 ¼") and 36 mm (1 7/16").
Digital dimensions are often expressed in pixels or DPI (dots per inch). The physical dimensions in pixels must be at least 420 x 540.
