Congratulation! ;D

Hi guys,

I had got approval email of my BOWP on Oct 30th. Haven't yet received my hardcopy of the permit yet. Anyone in similar situation?

I had received my hard copy of BOWP. It says the employer as ANY. Two major hurdles (AOR and BOWP) have been done :) I am really happy and this forum helped me a lot to cross both these hurdles.

On the other hand, if employers are routinely offering these long, one or two year contracts to foreign workers without the intention of honouring the full term of the contract, it's not a situation that ought to be encouraged.

I'm not familiar with LMO's. So you think the LMO has some bounding effect for the employer to honor the contract? Maybe you are right, as at the very least if they spend so much effort to get you the LMO, they have a lot of incentive to keep you that long...

The contracts I have had all have causes like "performance review on as-needed bases", "dependent on available funding" etc. So they can always find excuses to let you go regardless of how long the contract term is. The key is to find a good employer who won't easily do that ::)

Congrats, kunishsa!

Hey guys,

Just for statistics, I applied for BOWP on Nov 10 and it was approved on Nov 26. My case wasn't any special though as my previous WP was to expire in less than 4 months and by the time I applied for BOWP I had received the AOR. My only concern was the LMO application being in process, but apparently they don't care about it as long as there is no positive LMO.

Thank you and good luck! :)

No, your BOWP will be denied, as one requirement is the AOR of your PR application. Since your application
has been returned, there won't a an AOR from CIC.

so there is no hope that BOWP officer will wait for any decision on PR application, since i sent paperwork back on Mon, Dec 2?....thanks

Depends on when the VO starts to work on your BOWP application. AOR takes about 30-40 days right now, so by the time someone issues your AOR your WP might already been denied.
All you can do is wait. If your WP application gets rejected, re-apply when you get the AOR.

Can i re-apply for BOWP upon receiving AOR? because right now i m already on implied status..thx

If your current application for the BOWP gets rejected before you get the AOR, then no - as you don't meet
the requirements for the BOWP.
Chances are you will have to change your status or find an employer willing to apply for a LMO for you.

Maybe someone else can chime in on this?
