Can the BOWP also be employer specific? I thought it was an open work permit.
Do we have to inform IRCC about change in employer even if we didn't count points for job offer?

Yeah usually BOWP is open permit and when it the expired WP.is given bases on LMIA when you are filling up app for BOWP it requires us to mention about LMIA i guess thats why i said it may require the person to inform IRCC.but if your work exp points arent counted for your PR application then you dont need to inform..just in case confirm with IRCC agent as well.

My AOR was August 28, 2018. First medical passed on September 18, 2018. No updates for two years. I have called multiple times, and they just say application is in background check by third party and they dont have any timeline. Ordered GCMS notes too, nothing unusual there. Recently,my medical was reviewed again on August, 2020 and marked as passed and on September, 2020 my file moved from Winnipeg office to Vancouver. Thats all I know so far.

I got my PR eventually in May 2021. Applied in August 2018. So it took close to 3 years.

I applied for a BOWP on May 29,2025 and missed uploading AOR, i, then immediately raised a web form(same day) for adding a document which is AOR in this case. I still have 30 days left in my WP and haven’t received any implied status confirmation for BOWP yet. What should I do in this case? Is there something i should consider doing? Or i should be okay? Please respond?

You'll be okay and soon you will receive your maintained status. It usually takes a couple of days, including on weekends.

Thank you! That’s assuring! One other follow up question. I only got submission confirmation letter, since my employer is asking for an update about the visa status. Can i send them the submission and AOR to continue working ?
