My mother was a resident of Sorel, Quebec in 1964 and then married my father from Burlington, Vermont. I was later born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1964. Would I have Canadian Citizenship opportunity? Also, my biological mother and father gave me up for adoption. I was adopted by a US couple.

Was your mother just a resident of Canada? Or was she actually a citizen of Canada?

Yes, was your mother a Canadian citizen when you were born? If so, and if you have all the paperwork linking you to your birth mother (proof of name change, etc.), then you would be a Canadian citizen.

If your birth mother just resided in Canada, but wasn't a citizen, then you did not inherit Canadian citizenship.

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, my mother was a citizen. As an infant she immigrate to Canada with her parents after world War 2. Her parents were Chech. The escaped Europe to Columbia where my mother was actually born. Then, Canada accepted them as immigrants. Her other siblings were all born in Canada but she was born in Columbia.
