I am sponsoring my wife from Pakistan and according to the region specific requirements...it states that you must provide original birth certificates for you (the principal applicant, in this case my wife...) and your spouse (me, the sponsor). Both of us were born in Pakistan, I just happen to be a Canadian Citizen.

Now thing is, for my wife I am submitting something called the "B" form. Has the details of her birth and location, date etc. but I cannot find my birth certificate. I also had someone check for me in Pakistan but they couldn't find it. So what can I do in this case?? is there an alternative? can I just not send one and will the sponsorship still get processed??

I don't understand why they want my birth certificate when they have already cleared me and accepted me as a Canadian Citizen!

any help would be appreciated!!

thank you!

Hello,
you dont need to submit your Birth Certificate as you are a Canadian Citizen, its only for those who are applying for PR with their spouses as well, Region specific form is same for everyone(FSW, Spousal cases, Parents etc.)

hope this helps!

thank you for the answer brother, this definitely saves a lot of hassle :). And I assume B form is acceptable as a birth certificate.
