Hello Senior members - I have an Urgent issue I need someone to help me with:

My First name in my Class 10 and Birth Certificate is NISHES

My First name in ALL OTHER Documents including PP is NISHESH

My birth certificate is in English and this is the ONLY mismatch in the documents.

I am currently based in the UAE alongwith all my family members. I am citizen of India by birth.

Can I approach the Indian Consulate in the UAE to acquire an affidavit attesting that the Birth Certificate is mine ?

Or is there anything else I could do ?

PLEASE HELP !

From what I could find - There are 2 options for me:

1- Submit the existing BC with a Sworn Affidavit (quickest).
2- Rectify first name and get a new BC reissued from the Municipality (Eternity).

Hi Nishesh,

Even I am facing name mismatch issue with Few experience docs where they given my last name and first name.
And my Birth Cert(BC) didn't have my name simply my gender.
And my education docs has my last name's initial (K instead of KALLAM).

How to tackle this issues?
Any idea??
Please suggest.

As per my opinion option 2 is safe but you are not in India. Why don't you tell someone in India to get a new birth certificate for you.

Try to get the new birth certificate with your name as per the SSC certificate (SSC certificate name must be the same for all other higher educational documents). Even after getting the new birth certificate make an affidavit for your initial "K" (For employment docs and others too).

Thanks for the response. I got a sworn affidavit from the consulate general of India in Dubai and submitted that with a copy of my original birth certificate.

This ship has long sailed :D
