Biometrics Letter 30 Day Extension

Hello,

We are doing an outland family sponsorship for PR. We just received letter for biometrics and realized we have 30 days to submit biometrics. In our country there is only one office to do this in the capital over and 8 hour drive away. Because of the distance, it's very difficult to travel all the way there just for biometrics. However, 2 weeks after the deadline we have a trip already planned to go to the capital. How likely are we to get an extension to the 30 days if we explain this situation? it would make a big difference to us if we could just have 2 more weeks.

Make a reservation with the VFS office (should be possible), write a webform to IRCC, note the reservation you have, and if possible provide info about that reservation date. To my knowledge they do not cancel apps for minor delays like this.

You probably won't hear back before the time of the appointment. Just go ahead and do the biometrics.

I submitted my application on 14th Dec 2024 and need to go for biometrics on or before 14 Jan 2025. I cannot see slots opened for January and even I need extension. I filled web form by going to this site https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp then "Ask about a program or service" > Visiting Canada > Filled the form and submitted for both myself and my wife. What if I wont hear anything from them till Jan 14 ? And what if I have no updated on my BIL letter in the portal? Can I book something in February and go with expired BIL ?

Yes book earliest available and provide webform to IRCC that you have earliest possible booked. You won't hear back from them. They won't cancel your app for this type of delay.

Is this for a spousal sponsorship application? If so, I would say you should be fine listing the primary applicant and dependents (minor children) in one webform.

Thanks it is for a visitor visa, the principal applicant is the mother, the dépendant is her son.
