Hi all,

currently re-applying for PR with my common-law spouse via inland OINP route (paper based). We are at the stage where we both have received Biometrics Instruction letters. I am the principal applicant, we both have the same EP************ application number, our biometrics were paid together.

Yesterday I got a call from Service Canada to book my Biometrics appointment. They never asked for my application number to verify my identity, they only asked for my postal code (?!). When I asked if this appointment was for my spouse as well I was told no, she only had my name on the list. I had her check her list by giving her my spouse's last name but nope - nothing.

So now I am very confused. My spouse definitely is not exempt as she has never given her biometrics in the past. The only phone number on our application is mine, we are both on the same application number. Was the ServiceCanada lady mistaken and should we both take our instruction letters and passports and go to the appointment together?

Thanks for clearing this up for us!

After submitting the documents, how long it took for receiving calls from Service Canada ?

My AOR was on February 10, 2020 (I submitted my application on December 4, 2019). Biometrics Instruction Letter came in July. The call came on October 15th.

I have now successfully given biometrics for both myself and my spouse on October 29th.

Last year my spouse and I went to register our biometrics, and the officers separated us individually. He passed into a room, and I was called to another room even though we were in the same applications (I was asking for a study permit and he was looking for an open work permit). I think you should call to ask for an appointment for your husband, since the registry of biometrics is individual, and they will ask you for the biometrics invitation letter, one per each candidate.

Hope this info helps you.

Yeah in the end we just played dumb. She never got a call to book her appointment. I simply brought her with me and said we were told to show up together. They made me go in alone first, I did my prints and photo. Then when I asked about my fiancee they said she couldn't do hers unless she had her own appointment. They seemed very confused about the process. I mentioned that she was on my application and we shared the same EP##### application number and they said that was impossible. She showed them her BIL and finally they gave in and let her go ahead. I don't know why they make it so difficult, the whole process of actually collecting the prints and picture took less than 2 minutes.

hehe, sometimes it feels like they don't receive instructions or something. Well, at least you solved the problem, good luck with your application =)!.
