Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regarding my IRCC application.

Unfortunately, I missed the deadline to complete my biometrics and medical exam. I was monitoring my personal email where I got my AOR but I realized I got the request letters on a different email. The deadline was 5 January! I regularly check the PR portal which currently states "under process". I'm planning to submit a web form to explain my situation and request an extension or reconsideration.

What steps should I take now?

Also, what documents should I include with the IRCC web form? So far, I'm thinking of attaching:

A letter of explanation describing why I missed the deadline.

Any supporting documents (if applicable) that explain the delay.

Proof that I've booked or completed my biometrics and/or medical exam (if available).

Is there anything else I should submit to improve my chances of having my request accepted?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thank you!

I would submit the webform as soon as possible rather than waiting.

In your LOE, explain exactly what happened—that you were monitoring the email where you received your AOR and didn't realize the biometric and medical requests were sent to a different email address. Keep the explanation factual, take responsibility for the oversight, and emphasize that the delay was unintentional.

I would also complete the biometrics and medical exam (or book them immediately, if you haven't already) and include proof of the appointments or completion with the webform. Showing that you've already taken steps to comply is much stronger than simply asking for more time.

In addition to the LOE, I'd attach any appointment confirmations, receipts, or information sheets from the panel physician and biometric collection centre. If there were any exceptional circumstances that contributed to missing the deadline, include evidence of those as well.

Ultimately, it's up to IRCC whether they grant an extension or accept the late compliance, but acting quickly and demonstrating that you've already addressed the issue gives you the best chance. Since your PR portal still shows "under process," that's at least a positive sign that the application hasn't been closed yet.
