just saw on the immigration minister's twitter account that the bill C24 has received royal assent

Not surprised... but sad of course! :-X
lets see what would be the cut off date!

C-24 = consequence of the fraudulent acts of some people just to be a Canadian citizen.

No

There are many "In Process" applications open since 2012.
With this new law in place now, which gives authority for minister/his delegate to finalize the applications, will the CJs retained for the currently "In Process" applications, or will the new process of ministry finalizing citizenship applications come in force.
I am asking this because if govt goes with the "Cut Off" date formula, then they will have to maintain parallel (two) processes of granting citizenship till all the applications falling before cut-off are completed, which will be an expensive affair for govt.
There seems to be a great likelihood of changing all the processing to new process in interest of govt expenditure.
Any thoughts?

What do you mean by changing all processing to new process? Can you be clear !

Do you mean they will return all the processing applications ! :-X

No, not returning the applications.

A) Current approach for "grant of citizenship" involves CJ finalizing an application.
B) According to C-24 law - Minister/Delegate will finalize the "grant of citizenship".
If the govt decides to take a cut-off date approach to implement the new law then they will have to keep both the processing methods live to take care of "In Process" applications before and after cut-off date, which will be expensive for govt to maintain.
So there are chances that govt will convert all the currently "In Process" applications to follow the new (B) method for finalizing citizenship application.
This is where I am inviting thoughts from people on this forum, what do you all feel?

what was the day you applied? and the processing day as well?

To check online it takes 45 to 60 days

How long to process an application, depends and varies. 6 months to 18 months.
