Just wondering why majority of the first BG changes to in progress and very few not started? is it because people have provided RCMP report upfront for not started?

What do you all think?

My medicals passed on Feb 20, 2017 and the same day I have noticed BG status as "Not Started". Until now, the status remains the same. As you mentioned, I have submitted my RCMP upfront. One thing I understood from the different threads that is all dependent on the agent who is doing BG check for us. Hoping for the best.

I did the same and it is not started since February 17th. Good luck!

I also did the same, upload RCMP report upfront.
I think this might be the cause of NN - NS for us, if more people can confirm they did the same, that might lead us to a conclusion.

Is RCMP submission a mandatory ? or If not submitted, would the visa officer requests for submission ?
My application is CEC in land.

One of my friend submitted and received AOR on 20/01/2017. His medical status was changed on last week along with BG as "Not Started". He also submitted his RCMP upfront. I'm not sure whether we can conclude submitting RCMP leading with this type of status.

It's not mandatory. I did it just in case they might come back and ask for it later.
Thought it might speed up the process a bit.

Instersting, the more sample case we have, the more concrete answer we can have.
But I wonder what's the next state for BG check after NS through?

My background check pattern is NN-> NS -> NN and I also provided RCMP report upfront.

Would you mind share your timeline, please ?
Also are you CEC applicant, too?

ITA: Oct 12, 2016
AOR: Nov 6, 2016 PNP-Inland
Meds: passed on Nov. 23th
BG: NN->NS(Nov. 23th)->NN (Dec. 5th)

Thank you. According to your timeline, NN should be the next state we expect.

Interesting

I did RCMP upfront, My medicals got passed on 24th and BG changed from NN to NS, Never went to IP
So who ever did RCMP upfront doesn't need BG or what ?

That would be my guess based on what we have in common here.
